FAQ
WHY CHOOSE FRANTIC STUDIO ?925 sterling silver is a silver alloy that is 92.5% pure silver, mixed with other metals (usually copper) for strength. It is the international standard for wearable silver jewelry: strong enough for heavy rings and bracelets, while still being genuine silver rather than plated base metal. This definition matches international jewelry standards such as ISO 19376-1:2025, Jewellery and precious metals, Vocabulary. Every FRANTIC STUDIO piece is solid 925 Sterling Silver, never plated.
Real 925 sterling silver usually does not turn skin green. When it does happen, it is a harmless reaction between the copper in the alloy and the acidity or moisture on your skin, and it washes straight off. Hot weather, hand cream, perfume and sweat all make it more likely. Cheap plated jewelry is a different story: once the thin coating wears through, the base metal underneath reacts far more aggressively and permanently discolours. Because every FRANTIC STUDIO piece is solid silver all the way through rather than plated, there is no coating that can wear off.
The most reliable way is to measure a ring you already own that fits the intended finger well, then compare it to our size guide. If you do not have a reference ring, a local jeweler can size you for free in a couple of minutes. Because every ring is made to order in your size, we cannot resize it before production, so it is worth double checking before you check out. If you fall between two sizes, most customers find the slightly larger one more comfortable for daily wear.
You can, but it will age the finish faster. Water alone does not damage solid silver, so the occasional shower is harmless. The real problems are chlorinated pools, salt water, sweat and soap residue: they speed up tarnishing and dull a polished surface over time. Heavy pieces can also take knocks during training. The simple rule: take it off for swimming and the gym, and dry it properly if it does get wet. On oxidized pieces the dark finish is meant to evolve anyway, so a little extra patina is part of the design.
For most people, yes. Silver itself is not a common allergy trigger compared with metals like nickel, and we use high grade 925 Sterling Silver for durability and comfort. A medical literature review found silver allergy reports to be very uncommon, with only one confirmed case documented in the studies it surveyed (University of Texas Medical Branch, 2010). If you have a known metal allergy, it is still smart to be cautious and stop wearing any piece that irritates your skin.
That darker look is an intentional finish that adds depth and contrast to the design. It is not tarnish or damage. On pieces like the OSMOSIS Ring and the EMBERLOCK Special Edition Necklace, the oxidized finish is part of the style. We also avoid synthetic anti tarnish coatings, so the surface keeps changing naturally with wear and develops its own patina over time. The chemistry behind it: silver sulfide (Agâ‚‚S) forms on the surface when sulfur containing compounds in the air react with the silver, creating the dark layer (Chemistry World, 2019).
Keep it gentle and start with a soft polishing cloth. For everyday care that is usually all you need. For a deeper clean, mild soapy water with a gentle dry works well, followed by a light polish. Avoid harsh chemicals and aggressive scrubbing, especially around fine details and edges. If your piece is oxidized, polishing too hard can lift areas that were meant to stay dark, so work slowly and focus only on the raised surfaces you actually want to brighten.
Store it dry and sealed when you are not wearing it. Silver darkens faster in humid air and around certain materials. Professional conservation practice recommends keeping relative humidity between 35 and 55 percent (a silica gel packet helps), storing pieces in a closed container away from damp environments, and avoiding contact with rubber or synthetic materials that release tarnishing compounds. These simple habits noticeably extend the life of a polished finish.
Yes. Every design is built to work for anyone, in a bold architectural style rather than a gendered one. For rings, measure a ring you already own that fits well, or get sized at a local jeweler. For bracelets, measure your wrist snugly and decide whether you want a close fit or some movement, especially for heavier styles like the AGONY Heavy Bracelet. If you are between sizes, most customers find the more comfortable option is the better choice for everyday wear.
Handcrafted means every piece is made and finished by hand, so small variations are completely normal. FRANTIC STUDIO is a one man project, and each order is hand finished rather than mass produced. You can expect the same overall design as shown, but tiny differences in surface texture, patina and the way light catches the edges can occur from piece to piece. Many customers actually prefer that, because it makes the piece feel personal rather than factory perfect.
Because every piece is made to order rather than pulled from stock, production takes some time before your item ships. That is the trade off for a hand finished piece made in Germany instead of a mass produced one. You can follow your order from workshop to doorstep with tracked updates at every step. For current production and shipping timelines, check the shipping policy in the footer or the order status page.
You bring the idea, and the studio works with you to turn it into a one of a kind piece. Share your inspiration, we align on the direction, then it gets designed and made by hand. Rough sketches, reference photos and the type of item you want (ring, bracelet or necklace) all help. Since this is a one person studio and every project is different, timing varies, so message early if you have a deadline in mind.
FRANTIC STUDIO was established in 2023 as a one man project, so it is a newer studio. The reviews speak for themselves though: a 4.9 out of 5 rating from real customers, shown on our reviews page. Every order is tracked and updated at each stage of production, from the first sketch to shipping. If you are still unsure, starting with one piece is a good way to experience the weight, finish and patina for yourself.
